Honest Reviews in an Industry Full of Hype

The electric bike market has exploded — and so has the noise. Brand-sponsored "reviews" that never find a single flaw. Affiliate sites that paste spec sheets and call it testing. YouTube videos that are essentially 10-minute commercials.

EV Ride Review was built as the alternative. We purchase or independently source our test units. We ride them for weeks, not hours. We report the actual range numbers we recorded — not the best-case manufacturer claims. And we're honest when something disappoints us, because you're spending serious money.

📏

Real Range Numbers

We test at 35–40mph on mixed terrain with a 175lb rider. That's the honest number. Not "up to X miles in ideal conditions at 15mph."

🔩

Hands-On Testing

Minimum 2 weeks per bike, 300+ test miles. We ride trails, hills, city streets, and push the limits — then tell you what broke or disappointed.

🚫

No Brand Favoritism

We don't accept free products in exchange for positive coverage. Scores are based on performance data, not relationships with manufacturers.

💰

Transparent Affiliate Disclosure

Some links earn us commissions. We always disclose this. Affiliate income helps fund testing — it never changes a score or recommendation.

Our Testing Methodology

Every bike goes through the same standardized process before we publish a single word.

01
Acquire the Bike
We purchase or independently source test units. We don't accept free bikes in exchange for coverage. This ensures our scores are never influenced by manufacturer relationships.
02
Range & Speed Testing
Three separate range tests: eco mode on flat road, normal riding on mixed terrain, and full-throttle runs. All with a 175lb rider. We use GPS to verify speed claims.
03
Real-World Riding (2+ Weeks)
We ride every test bike for a minimum of 2 weeks and 300 miles across multiple terrain types. This surfaces issues that don't appear in short-term testing.
04
Score & Publish
Scores are based on 5 weighted categories: Range, Power, Build Quality, Value, and Ride Comfort. The final score is calculated — not assigned based on opinion alone.

⚖️ Our Editorial Independence Policy

EV Ride Review participates in affiliate programs including Coswheel's affiliate program. When you click certain links and make a purchase, we earn a commission at no cost to you. This income helps fund our testing operations.

However: affiliate relationships do not influence our scores, recommendations, or editorial content. We give every bike the same rigorous test regardless of whether we earn a commission on it. If a product underperforms, we say so — even when that's not in our financial interest. Our credibility with readers is worth more than any commission.
