First Impressions

The Aventon Aventure.2 looks genuinely premium in person. The matte finish, cable routing, and component selection all suggest a bike that costs more than $1,899. Aventon clearly invested heavily in aesthetics and user experience — the companion app is the best e-bike app we've tested from any manufacturer in this price range.

Performance Testing

Speed & Motor Response

In Class 3 mode (unlockable via app), the Aventure.2 hits a legitimate 28mph on flat ground. The 750W hub motor provides smooth, progressive assist. Pedal assist feel is natural and well-tuned across all 5 levels. Hill climbing is adequate on moderate grades but becomes labored on steeper inclines above 8%.

Range — The Central Issue

Our two-week range test returned consistent results: 55–65 miles depending on rider weight, terrain, and assist level. At PAS 3 on mixed terrain with a 170lb rider: 62 miles. At PAS 5: approximately 48 miles.

📊 Range Context

At $1,899, the Aventure.2 delivers 60 miles of tested range. Competing fat-tire bikes in the $2,000–$2,500 range now offer 80–100+ miles. For casual city commuting this is fine — for longer rides, it's a real consideration.

Braking

Hydraulic disc brakes front and rear with 203mm rotors — excellent. Stopping power is strong and consistent, even on long downhills.

App & Technology

The Aventon app is genuinely excellent. It pairs quickly via Bluetooth, allows locking/unlocking the bike, switching assist modes, customizing throttle response, and viewing ride statistics. The interface is polished and updates regularly. Of all the e-bike apps we've used, this one has the most thoughtful UX.

Pros
  • Best-in-class app experience
  • Premium build quality for the price
  • Hydraulic disc brakes — excellent
  • Smooth, natural pedal assist
  • Great aesthetics — looks expensive
  • Strong 2-year frame warranty
Cons
  • 60-mile range underperforms at $1,899
  • 750W struggles on steep hills
  • Heavy at 73 lbs
  • Mechanical fork — not true off-road
  • Limited to Class 2/3 speeds (28mph)

Final Verdict

The Aventon Aventure.2 is a genuinely good e-bike let down primarily by its range at the $1,899 price point. If you're a casual commuter who rarely rides more than 40 miles at a stretch, you won't feel the limitation. The app, build quality, and ride feel are all excellent.

But if range is a priority — and in 2026, it should be when spending nearly $2,000 — you'll find that competitors now offer 30–40% more range for a similar investment.
